this month — October 2026: Mammogram Poster Girls & Western Heights Cemetery
This month we're giving to two neighbors. Mammogram Poster Girls pays for free mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women, starting in southern Dallas and now across North Texas. Western Heights Cemetery is the pioneer burial ground on Fort Worth Avenue, with graves going back to the 1800s (Clyde Barrow's among them), kept up by volunteers. Here's how it works: when the items you donate sell, 10% of the sale price goes to one of these two causes. Tell us your pick at drop-off, or we'll choose for you.

About Cliffhanger
Cliffhanger started with a simple idea: good things shouldn't end up in a landfill when they could help someone else. We're a small Oak Cliff business built around affordable secondhand shopping, community giving, and making sure everyone feels welcome. Every donation gets another chance, every purchase helps keep useful goods in circulation, and each month 10% of the revenue from donated goods supports a local cause.

Every piece that finds a second home keeps something out of the landfill and out of someone else's "I had to buy that new" budget.
And the name? Oak Cliff is the neighborhood. The other half is honest: we sell coat hangers' worth of stuff — clothes, housewares, the kind of finds you didn't know you needed. The pun is the address.

Donate goods
We take donations on Tuesdays only, 10 AM – 7 PM. Bring them to the store on a Tuesday and we'll get them on the floor. We can't accept drop-offs on other days, so please hold on to your goods until then — see Hours above.

No thanks
- Broken items We can't resell anything damaged or non-working.
- Soiled items Anything stained, torn, or unwashed can't go back on the floor.
- Mattresses We don't have the space or the means to sanitize them.
- Open hygiene products For everyone's safety, these have to be sealed and new.
- Hazardous materials Chemicals, paints, and the like aren't safe for us to handle or sell.
Tax receipts: We don't issue tax receipts — donated goods are sold, and 10% of each donated item's sale goes to the month's named local cause.
Pickup: Call or email us to arrange for pickup.
Large items: Please call before dropping off any large items — these must be scheduled in advance, on a Tuesday.
Where your goods go
Cliffhanger isn't a 501(c)(3) — we're a small for-profit community shop. So instead of giving you a tax receipt, we promise something simpler: when the goods you donate sell, 10% of each sale goes to the month's named local cause. When we're featuring more than one, tell us at drop-off which your donation should support — or we'll pick for you. This month's cause is named in the band at the top of this page.
